2013 Convention - Cambridge, Maryland


The South Jersey Wheelmen Cycling Club

was organized in 1979. Its original purpose was to serve the needs of recreational and touring cyclist. It continues with that purpose today. The club is based in the Vineland area, but organized rides extend throughout Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties New Jersey.

Club Meetings

Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month except December. Meetings begin at 6:00 pm. Go to Club Meetings for up to date location and other information.

Club  Rides
During the summer months, the club usually organizes weekly rides. Check under Weekly Club Rides for details. Along with the website, rides are posted in advance in our newsletter, The Spoke 'n Word. The distance and difficulty of each ride is noted and an effort is made to serve each member's ability.

SJW Convention 2014
Our fall convention is an organized biking vacation. Included is a brief meeting to discuss basic club concerns supported with plenty of popcorn and beverages. Gary Pilling and Mary Miranda will host our 2014 convention Friday 10/17 to Sunday 10/19 in Cape May, the diamond gem of South Jersey. Allen and Billie Jackson will host a picnic and trail bike ride on Thursday 10/16 at Belleplain State Park.

Annual Century Rides
Each year, the club sponsors three century rides:
Get Ready Metric
- Early June, offers two 31 mile (50 km) loops.
Greenbranch Park Century
- Early August, offers four loops totaling 100 miles.
Jersey Devil Century
- Our big September ride, offers four loops totaling 100 miles.
