South
Jersey Wheelmen
is a cycling club that was organized in 1979. It's
original purpose was to serve the needs of the recreational
and touring cyclist, and it continues with that purpose today.
The club is based in the Vineland area, but organized rides
extend throughout the regions of Cumberland, Gloucester and
Salem
counties New Jersey.

The "Jersey Devil" is a traditional
part of South Jersey folklore and mascot for our
annual Jersey Devil Century. |
Club
Meetings
Meeting are held at 6:30 pm on the first Wednesday
of each month except December.

*Beginning March 2011 all meeting will be held at Sweet
Life Bakery, Vineland.
Summertime
weekly fun rides
During the summer
months, the club usually organizes weekly rides. Check
under Weekly Club Rides for details. Besides the website,
the rides are posted in advance in our newsletter: The
Spoke 'n Word. The distance and difficulty of each ride
are noted and an effort is made to serve each member's
ability.

Convention 2012
Our
fall Convention is
an organized biking vacation. Included is a brief get together
to discuss club concerns
supported with plenty of popcorn
and beverages.
This year
Dan Malvestuto, Jim Gullo, and Allen Jackson are taking
us to beautiful Easton, Maryland. Easton
is a popular tourist town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland
and home to the well known Eastern Shore water fowl festival..
The biking will be outstanding. Details coming soon.
Annual Century Rides
Each
year, the club sponsors three century rides:
Get Ready Metric
- Early June, offers two 31 Kilometer loops.
Greenbranch Park Century - Early August, several
loops can ride up to 100 miles.
Jersey Devil Century - Our big September ride, offers
four loops totaling 100 miles

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Vermont
Trip : Held
in late August,
our Vermont trip always has a good price, beautiful scenery,
outstanding cycling, and great beer. It doesn't get any better
then that.

2. Adopt
a Highway Clean Up: Start
9:00 am at Coombs Farm Rt 77, south of Pole Tavern Circle (intersection
of Rt 77 and Rt 40) at mile marker 10. Clean up equipment provided.
Wear boots, pants, long sleeves. You MUST call or email ahead
